Bowing to Tradition, unexpected sides to Japanese Society

From the country that gave us all that is high tech and automated it comes as a surprise to find that many aspects of Japanese society defy modernity.  Children’s pushchairs still made out of rattan, tiny tractors for miniscule fields and bullfighting where nothing gets hurt, there’s much more than mega cities, Buddhist temples and volcanos in Japan.  Travel with me through the less expected sides of Japanese life and see how simple, handmade and contradictory it really can be.

Zoom is new normal

Warrington PS has now completed two meetings of the season via Zoom and they have been successful and well attended. the Committee is determined to keep the club running , meeting and socialising as best we can through the covid pandemic. We have some great lectures planned and Zoom has allowed us to book lecturers in other parts of the UK.

Due to the winter covid situation, the committee has agreed that all meeting will be held via Zoom until end of February 2021. The programme has been updated to reflect the lectures booked for this period and the remainder of the season. We are hoping to be able to meet in person in March 2021.
